Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East returns with strongest grid ever

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East will mark the start of its fourth season with the strongest line-up in its history on the 16th and 17th November 2012 in Bahrain.

The exclusive series featuring an international field, spanning eleven nations, including the UAE, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, will roar the grid for the start of the six-stop season on the Bahrain international Circuit.

Reigning champion, Saudi Arabia's Abdulaziz AlFaisal, will face fierce competition to hold onto his title in the most exciting and professional race series in the Middle East, from the likes of Saudi Falcons team-mate Faisal Binladen, Al Nabooda Racing duo Karim Al Azhari and Austrian Clemens Schmid.

Created to inspire a new generation of Arab racing drivers and offer a platform into the world of international GT and sports car racing, the one-make series has already proved popular amongst local drivers and fans alike who regard the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East as the purest form of racing.

For the fourth consecutive season Lechner Racing, led by the hugely experienced Walter Lechner, will manage the series and will be responsible for all co-ordination and logistical support to ensure another smooth and successful term.

Walter Lechner, Manager of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East said: "I cannot wait for it all to begin, as this will be one of the most exciting seasons on record. A vast array of drivers from all corners of the globe will compete for honours. We have the prospect that something special will happen, with every race being an event in itself. The introduction of the Team Title will ensure dramatic on-track action from start to finish in every race."

With the series touring the region's world-class circuits, including Yas Marina and Reem International Circuit in Saudi Arabia, over six race weekends, drivers from Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany add an international flavour to the new season.

The newly installed Team title will bring an extra edge to the racing with every lap of every round counting.
